Joanne has specialized in preserving the Wealth of High Net Worth individuals and families, focusing on Business Owners, Retirees and Professionals, for more than 30 years.
Her specialty is guiding clients toward a Financial Life in Order™, a process she designed to take her clients from chaos to confidence. This process covers the relevant aspects of each client’s Financial Life, including Investment, Insurance, Tax and Estate, Business Succession Planning and Charitable Gifting strategies.
Joanne holds an MBA from Queen’s University and is both a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and Registered Financial Planner (RFP). She also holds both the Canadian Investment Manager (CIM) and Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designations.
Joanne also established Jo’s Snowflake fund, a Charitable Trust, providing Comfort Packs to children who, through no fault of their own, find themselves in Toronto homeless shelters. Joanne also supports Share Plan, The Stop, Pathways to Education, Horizons for Youth, Brands for Canada (formerly Windfall), Ovarian Cancer Research Canada, St Michael’s Hospital, Princess Margaret Cancer Research, Heart and Stroke, Monster Ball and River-Oak Parent Child Centre Inc, among many other charities.
Koel specializes in working with high net worth Family Business Owners and leading Professionals, bringing experience and expertise to their unique and often complex financial lives.
Koel employs our strategic Family Office approach, providing discretionary investment management and holistic integrated wealth management solutions, with special emphasis on tax planning and tax mitigation.
He works closely with client families to provide specialized wealth planning strategies in the context of a proactive, personal and caring relationship.
An MBA graduate from the Michael DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University, Koel also holds an Honours BA in Commerce from Queen’s University. Koel is a member of the Financial Planners Standards Council and holds numerous professional accreditations including the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Canadian Investment Manager (CIM). Most recently, he was awarded the coveted Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI) designation, placing him in the top five percent of all financial advisors in Canada.
Koel is involved with the Family Enterprise Exchange (FEX), The Stop Community Food Centre in Toronto’s west end as well as serving on the ROM’s Executive Board for its Royal Patrons’ Circle.
Stephanie Yantsis is our Team Leader and long time Senior Associate. Stephanie has a Master’s Degree in Science and has acquired extensive knowledge about Wealth Management, Investments and Estates in the many years she has been part of our team. Outside of work she has a nice little family and worked from home long before it became so popular! Stephanie loves the theatre, both professional and volunteering with community groups, and has quite an affinity for Cuba, even getting married there!
Emmanuel Owoleso is our Analyst & Associate. Emmanuel takes care of all the trades and transactions for our clients. Emmanuel has an extensive background in Finance and graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with an MBA in Finance and Strategic Management and has completed several Canadian Securities Institute courses. Emmanuel has a passion for education and is currently in the process of obtaining his CIM designation. When Emmanuel isn’t studying, he enjoys playing basketball, reading non-fiction (his favourite genre!) and playing the saxophone in his church band.
Andrea Purawec, is our Executive Assistant. She keeps our meetings and mailings on track and in less socially distanced times, co-ordinates our Client Events. Andrea attended Humber College and was enrolled in the Business Administration program. There she developed her skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Andrea has over 6 years of Office Management and Client Service experience and enjoys her involvement in our Client Care initiatives. In her spare time, she is an avid true crime reader.
Ned Jeric

As Regional Vice-President, Wealth Planning, Ned works closely with our clients to identify issues and provide complex, tactical wealth planning support that complements their overall financial goals. Ned has a particular focus on estate planning and wealth transfer strategies for business owners, professionals and other high net worth individuals and families.
Ned joined Stonegate Private Counsel in 2013. Prior to this, he practiced estates law at a boutique law firm specializing in estate and trust planning. He has also worked at major financial institutions in both Canada and abroad, providing him with a diverse wealth planning background. Ned brings more than 20 years of professional wealth planning experience to Stonegate Private Counsel, now CI Private Wealth.
Ned holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University. He has been a member of the Law Society of Ontario since 1999 and holds both the Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designations. Ned has also completed a certificate in Family Business Advising from the Family Firm Institute.
Paul McVean

Paul is founder and managing director of Astute Strategies Inc., a wealth planning consultancy. He works closely with select accountants, financial advisors and their clients to provide financial, tax and estate planning on an advice-only basis. Paul specializes in working with Canadian business owner families and professionals, and also works with executives and retirees. Paul was founder and tax partner at Anklesaria McVean Professional Corporation, originally called McVean Professional Corporation, and now known as Anklesaria CPA Professional Corporation.
Since entering the financial world in 1994, Paul has gained experience in several different areas. He trained at one of the “big four” accounting firms, where he specialized in public accounting, tax planning and compliance for Canadian Controlled Private Corporations and the families that own them. He also gained experience in the wealth management industry at CI Financial, one of Canada’s largest independent wealth management firms as Regional Vice President, Wealth Planning, working with financial advisors at Assante Wealth Management Ltd. and Stonegate Private Counsel LP.
Paul holds a Bachelor of Accounting Science degree, has earned the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CGA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designations, and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), a U.K. designation. In addition, Paul has completed numerous tax specialty courses offered by the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada among others, including the In-Depth Tax Course, Income Tax Practice, and the Advanced Owner-Manager Tax Planning Course.
In addition to holding memberships in each of the professional bodies mentioned above, Paul is also a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation, The Canadian Institute of Financial Planners, the Financial Planning Association (USA), and the Family Office Club (USA).
Paul has delivered many seminars on various financial, tax and estate planning topics, and has authored and been interviewed for wide ranging articles for publications including CBC, Globe & Mail, Toronto Star, Financial Post, Ottawa Citizen, The Bottom Line (a trade publication for professional accountants), Investment Executive, Advisor.ca and the Ontario Dentist Journal. Paul was also a contributor to CGA Ontario’s Personal Tax Planning Guide.
Titus Ebenezer

As Regional Vice-President, Wealth Planning, Titus works closely with our high net worth clients to identify issues and provide complex, tactical wealth planning support that complements their financial goals. Titus has a particular focus on tax and financial planning strategies for business owners, professionals, and other affluent individuals and families.
Titus joined Stonegate Private Counsel in 2012 after providing tax advice to private corporations, shareholders and large public corporations at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. Titus also spent two years at a global investment services firm. In these roles, he provided both corporate and personal tax compliance and consulting services to a variety of clients. Overall, Titus brings more than 17 years of professional wealth planning experience to Stonegate Private Counsel, now CI Private Wealth.
Titus is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CGA), a U.S. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree in accounting from York University. He also has his Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designations. He is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation. Terry Marek

Terry has been a Financial Advisor for over 25 years, and specializes in the area of Estate and Tax Planning, utilizing insurance based strategies. Drawing on his background in teaching, Bachelor of Education from Queen’s University, he has developed strategies that identify opportunities and provide solutions to assist clients in preserving their wealth, now, and to the next generation. He works with advisors and their high net worth clients to craft custom solutions that suit their particular circumstances, with an emphasis on tax reduction, market resilience, risk diversification, and security.
In his spare time, he continues to play trumpet, which he started at the age of 11, and is active in the GTA music scene, playing in several big bands, pit orchestras for community musicals, and small Jazz groups.”
